Work of Human Flow

Work of Human Flow
At the table - Rock OB Akil Danny

The Race Praxis groups first met back in early 2021 at the Pacific Unitarian Church site that sits on the top of a canyon, overlooking the entire Los Angeles/Tongva basin.  The invitation was to explore something that began 5 years ago as a query into sacred hospitality.

It was fitting to be at the location where the intention is not to adhere to any particular doctrinal or identity-based lineage.  The commitment and intent of unitarians is to see the oneness in all of humanity.  Attending the weekly services at the location, which itself has an unusual energetic quality, inspired Gift of Compassion to explore possibilities - who would show up, why would they answer yes, how might these very different interests engage with each other, what might be the possibility in connection with supporting their individual work and supporting collective engagement?  GoCompassion carried this curiosity into the space.

The result has been proof that there is an energetic flow.  After that meeting, abundance in the form of both blessings material and in spirit, arrived.  The groups and people did nothing different that what they usually do, except now there was a different kind of growth and therefore, a different kind of potential for being in service to their common purpose:  to bring love and compassion to those whose lives were in short supply of the same.  The evidence of the need was in the curiosity, warmth, openness to connecting with each group that offered something to their neighbors, the kids, the adults in struggle, and the environment.  The depth of desire on both sides (those who were in service and those who sought service) is in the steadiness of the connections and willingness to face complexities together.

We hosted the LA Race Praxis folks on December 15th in the Arts District at Cafe Zinc and it was a time to check-in, to talk story, to remember those who we have lost and new people who have arrived.  It was a time to gather at a moment of transition from the year of the tiger to the year of the rabbit - the energy has already shifted and happenings will be very different in the 2023 calendar year!  We look forward to all that is coming - the challenges will be an opportunity to strengthen the spirit;  and the successes will be an opportunity to expand joy!  And, as one sage (OB) has put it, "God is change;  all that you touch will change, and all that touches you will change you."  For real.
