Foreknowledge

Foreknowledge

The rain that was predicted arrived last night. The sound of the drops on the sunwindow are soothing and the plants look happy to receive their sustenance. The temperature is 57 degrees fahrenheit. Today is Thursday.

Where did the month of January go? In a blink, the days and hours disappeared into memory. These days, knowing that this will happen (because time is, in fact moving faster) has opened a chance to develop knowing before knowing. They call that foreknowledge.

Being aware that there will be an event that will occur, before it happens. The skill is real. In the military, they experimented with "remote visioning" because there are some people who can know things without using the five senses - they have tapped into another sense that is as precise as the eyes and ears. While it is hard to believe, it is the case that there once was a whole tribe of people who broke time/space rules in order to help their people avoid disasters, to communicate important knowledge, to ensure that the fact of a reality beyond what we think we know, exists.

Every adult has probably had an experience of catching a glimpse of something that will happen before it actually does. This is a kind of intuition that each person possesses but most have forgotten about – and not bothered to cultivate. It's too "weird" (as if what we see all around us these days, isn't weird). Why not think about the ways one can build this muscle to know - beforehand?

Sometimes, you may not want to know. That's not surprising since living is all about understanding what is happening NOW. But if you believe that the moment is eternal, then you must also believe the past, present, and future are one – which means, you can know what has not yet happened and perhaps even know how to avoid the events that you would rather not experience. We do a very primitive version of this already - following weather predictions and tracking on health status because that information is accessible using our current state of knowledge connected to science and technology.

Having foreknowledge can be a good way to get to humility. Most don't know what it means to be humble. It's not about avoiding touting yourself, nor is it about not allowing yourself to be recognized, nor is it about saying "I am so humbled.". No.

It is about knowing that oneness is real. Then you cannot avoid humility.

The human being cannot exist in the world and taking without thought, the air, water, plants, and even other animals - and we are totally unconscious of the fact that we are taking parts of ourselves in our very effort to survive.

Our unique characteristic is that we have relationships – of all kinds. And what have you done with those relationships? Did you realize that one day, there will be death, transition, transformation? Did you realize that nothing stays the same and all things change, pass, transmute? These realities await your foreknowledge. And then what?
