Recover

The sky opened blue grey with a touch of pink today and light rose at about 5:45 this morning.  The temperature is rising - 56 degrees fahrenheit and will stay pretty steady between mid fifties and low to mid sixties in southern California for the week. Today is Tuesday.

This is the start of a month full of movement and changes in energy as celebrations, shared talks, and visits with people in other places take much of the calendar from daily routines and work.  Thankful for the chance to join the festivities where they are happening, and thankful that the shift in the universal energy has included me.  The seasons are changing.

There continue to be many tragic events being reported daily - and remembering: "be aware, but do not absorb" all of the reports of loss and struggle is a way to manage the flow of information that could easily justify withdrawal.  Rest, but do not withdraw.  

Steal moments that will inspire - from the weather to the fragrance of new blooms, to a conversation that brings comfort.  Then, see where you are.  Be a source of comfort, joy, recognition of something that offers another a chance to experience that moment of inspiration that all people need to keep moving deeper into the truth about their life.

That truth has been shared as this, "Perhaps our only purpose is to learn to love better."   And a lifetime of lessons - some sweet and some harsh - are what guide us to that realization.  Learning to allow oneself to celebrate and engage with others in ways that are not about earnings, but about learnings - can be so satisfying.  One day, the experience transforms into being the source of learning - surprise!  There are so many teachers, so many forms, and so many opportunities for each one to find the right teacher and the right form.  If it is meant to be for this to happen in life, it is a blessing.  The entire experience of living can feel shallow and directionless if this encounter with learning is missed.  

One knows: life is not just about earning your way to ensure you will secure food and shelter.  There is something more - and the search for meaning and service opens the door to begin this journey.

Some will travel with good fortune at their backs, not ever having to face the reality of poverty and violence.  Others will not have such fortune.  And many will find the road to be sometimes smooth and at times quite rocky.  The way to manage throughout has to be to recognize that there are times when the answers will be found in the world; and many times, the answers can only be found within.  

Going within to search for truth and answers is not easy.  There are no words. If the risk is taken, then hopefully, there is a chance to hit hard against a piece of stubborness, then have a realization about love, and finally have the chance to recover.
