It's clear, cool, and silent today. The temperature began at 56 and is now 59 degrees fahrenheit. Today is Friday.
No writing for several days. Just trying to be present in whatever called in the moment. A break in meeting the needs of others was supposed to happen. It didn't. At least the natural world has been a source of generative energy. The way in which light comes and goes during the day and into the evening. It is in that space where things seem to expand into calm and open possibilities to relate to the feeling of ease that we all need.
Today will be a closing of another week. Looking to the past week, so much has happened. It is easy to see how a lifetime can go by in the "blink of an eye.". We need to find more ways to appreciate that every moment is a lifetime. Every breath without pain or anxiety is a gift. Every chance to be with people who can create a sense of satisfaction - that "this" is enough is a precious opportunity to see that "now" is in fact, an eternity.
Writing has been a challenge lately. It might be because getting up earlier and moving into a groove is harder these days – not sure. Who cares about whether the words end up coming through or not? Really, no one. What is the reason for writing anyway? There is no reason that can be given - it is just something that wants to happen.
Then, the thought comes: Maybe there's some other intelligence that needs to be expressing itself and these words are just a part of that intelligence tapping into our world, wanting to share another kind of experience.
Wow, what a possibility! If that were true, then it means that we actually have capacity to break through time/space. And this brings to mind a dinner conversation/story shared.
The story of a young person raised in a spiritual community, who didn't learn to read until the age of 12 and today is an enormously successful public leader and entrepreneur. Without "educating" this young man's childhood mind with what was defined by others as necessary for achieving, succeeding, and stabilizing his life, he instead learned things about how life happens and how the world really works. And in that learning, he had the chance to gain insight into life's purpose and what it is to be a human being capable of kindness, curiosity, care for others as much as self. Then, those qualities, in turn put him on a path to the right person at the right time, who opened the door to conventional education. He learned to read, to write, to think beyond what lessons were taught because of what he brought to the learning. Today, this man is leveraging enormous amounts of resources to serve people in a time when people seem to be living to serve the dollar. He has it right; most of us have it backwards.
Another Wow.
Imagine if there were thousands more like him - what our world would be today.
