Guidance
Today is very wet - yay. The rains have poured overnight and the temperature is 58 degrees fahrenheit. Today is Monday.
Heading into a day that is filled with uncertainty.
We know that this is the reality about all days, but on some - there is a distinct feeling that anything can happen. Perhaps it is because the rains have soaked through everything all night, or the air just feels more clear making way for new things to emerge.
We get in touch with guidance in many ways. Sometimes there is ritual and ceremony, or prayer or silent meditation, or revisiting a song that once evoked a feeling that has been gone and now returns with the notes of the melody. There are also guides who help lead the way for next steps that are filled with uncertainty.
Accepting the guidance that comes is a whole different opportunity to choose than when one is searching for her. The journey begins with a tickle that can't be stopped without scratching. The relief is temporary and then, for many that temporary relief leads to a search for a more lasting form of relief. One keeps trying different things until the "right" solution to the search is found.
It is like all things in life and living. Things happen, conditions present themselves and we, as mere individual human beings have choices we make. Sometimes people ignore the itch that has been tickled. In fact, many do this and are quite content not to figure out what caused that tickle to begin with, while others have to find out why and what can be done.
This is a day when the idea of guidance came into awareness. We all need to find our unique way of being in each day. So where things that can create a sense of piercing through the chaos can be set up, guidance can emerge, and actions can follow - these are precious entry points. It happens that we can always set up the portal - with color, with light, with parts of the natural world that surround us and then, we remember the essential: our breath.
Guidance comes forth in such moments and we find ourselves getting closer to understanding what the tickle, the itch was about. Then, we rest and let go of that query, moving on to the next.
