Going There

Going There

The darkness gives way to light - regularly.  The sky's shadow barely etches the clouds that will come with early morning.  The temperature has cooled and it sits at 62 degrees, fahrenheit.  Today is Saturday.

Just asking is going to the place where one may or may not want to go.  The ask is a training opportunity in so many ways.  Thinking about it - asking for time, asking for company on a social outing, asking for food, asking for conventional currency like money, asking for marriage, asking...  each time, it's a gesture of reaching out and each time, the response could disappoint.  But we all need to keep going there.

This is because no one, and nothing happens in life without the gesture of reaching out, asking.  This is how jobs and work may be found, it is how we discover things unknown to us until the question is asked, it is how relationships are built.  If one doesn't have the ability to ask, one misses out on alot.

The biggest ask reaches to one's core.  Who are you/me?  Why are you/me here?  What are you/me doing with the life that has been given by your parents, their parents, and their parents?  The reply to each of these asks will be found in the hardest place to go:  inward.

This is where the true knowing resides and unless one has a way to get there, those big questions that eventually come in one form or another, cannot be reached.  So on this day, after a very full week of encounters, hostings, tasks completed, the question again arose:  What are you doing with your life?

The answer this day:  Alot and nothing much.  Just taking each ask that comes this way to see if an answer can be given by way of words, or actions, or prayers, or blessings.  And perhaps one of these will be a sufficient answer.

Those are the things that come into awareness on this very special day.  A day that will not happen again.  And a reminder that every day is an opportunity to find oneself "going there", wherever and however one can.  This is as much as can be expected of anyone.  The destination is important, and even more important is the ability and willingness to seek the path to that destination - life, it seems, is all about going there.
