Dis-appearance

The night is dark.  Two days ago, absolutely no moon.  Now, we are two days toward a new full moon that will enter in early June.  This Sunday night and the air is very still.

The question came, "Have you written anything about loss of love?  If so, can you please share?  I could really use the perspective right about now."

The answer, "Yes, I have and I will share with you what has come in a reflection on this."  There have been so many things already said, what more could be shared? And then, the following came through:

Love lost comes in many forms.  A person with whom you shared a life, a friendship, a struggle, or a being not in human form but perhaps even closer than almost any human one may know, or even a space that has held joys, celebrations, sadness, trauma, struggles through times of regret, fear, cowardice.  And in each - there was the disappearance of love, of the manifestation of the emotional connection and sense of safety in just knowing the other existed.

When the warmth and care depart from the realm of the senses, then what is left is the essence.  Not the residue of the being, but the essence.  If the memory of the one who has transitioned to another place in the universe leaves a regret, well then that is something one must carry for the rest of one's life.  It can be a burden, but does not have to be.  There is a way to become one with that regret and in the end, there is peace.

If there is an ever-so-faint trail of having shared a ride on the train of life that keeps moving down the tracks, and then the other steps off at the next station - the feeling is to wish them well on the rest of their journey.  The way that one moves with "big" love, is how one enjoys the train ride as people come into the car for part of the trip;  and then disappear so the destiny that awaits them can be met.

It is all about each person's destiny, which even if one could see it clearly – there os probably no way to tell the person what is ahead.  Anything can happen along the way.  In fact, all kinds of things do happen that are entirely beyond what one might hope or imagine.  This is the way the energy of the universe works - at all times, in all directions, and always in the now.

Life is full of now's.  And a love that enters one's life can stay for eternity.  The form changes, the experience of the other transforms, and the connection stays intact - inviting one to develop a new capacity that goes beyond the five senses and even the sixth sense - consciousness.

Anyone that has accompanied another to what is called "the end of life" knows that the story actually doesn't end upon physical death.  It continues in the spirit and the soul of the one who is moving through to another part of their journey, taking us along for the ride in a different way.  Opening our imaginations to what might be beyond what we can observe and experience as those who "live on" in this life.

The dis-appearance from this life form is an appearance that is made only once for each one.  "Dis" (to do the opposite of...) appear.  No longer visible (to the eye).

Now, one must move to "see" with the heart.
